23 January 2020 - The future of Analytics at Vontobel
with Libby Duane Adams Co-founder and CCO at Alteryx, Caroline Knöri Head Corporate Human Resources at Vontobel and Anaig Marechal, Software Engineer at Microsoft.
More
than 100 women and men attended the second Data + Women event last
Thursday in the auditorium at Vontobel to get inspired by different
female speakers working with and around data from various industries.
The event was kicked-off by a dialogue between Libby Duane Adams, Co-founder and CCO at Alteryx, and Caroline Knöri, Head Corporate Human Resources at Vontobel.
Libby
and Caroline were discussing about the modern analytics journey that is
taking place in their organizations and how it has transformed the role
so far. Also diversity was a big topic, stating what initiatives are
already in place at Vontobel and Alteryx and what can be done to further
support women in tech roles. Giving advice on having a successful
career by Libby and Caroline, the audience was being told to “not being
scared of taking risks” and “pursuing a role which you really enjoy”.
During the second part, Anaig Marechal, Software Engineer at Microsoft,
presented her Machine Learning project “AI for Good” at Microsoft for
which she analyzes children’s eye movements using data science to assess
reading troubles showing how data science can be used to help disabled
people in general. This was followed by a networking apéro to further
exchange ideas, share career expertise and just to get to know each
other. We received excellent feedbacks from people attending the events
and the ones who didn’t but heard so positive comments that they do not
want to miss the next one!
